Product Info The Robust Extra Large Negative Rake Scraper is made from Hardened and Nitrided M2 tool steel and measures 1 3/8” across and 3/8″ thick. The solid maple handle is 16” long and features a stainless steel ferrule and polyurethane finish. The bottom edges are radiused so that you can use it at an angle for even more effective cutting. It is shipped sharp. Sharpening just the bottom bevel maintains the nitriding on the top edge. Over time, you may eventually remove the top bevel and need to regrind it to maintain the negative rake. Just remember, there is heat treated M2 HSS under the nitriding, so you will still have a superior tool. Learn more about the Nitriding process used by Robust tools here.
