This is a low cost(clone) version of the popular Arduino Mega 2560 R3. It is fully compatible with the Arduino Mega 2560. It utilizes a genuine Atmel ATmega2560 microcontroller and the inexpensive CH340G USB-UART interface. It is assembled with the CH340 USB to Serial converter chip, in stead of using the more expensive ATmega16 used on the original board. PLEASE NOTE, you might have to install the CH340 driver on your computer to be able to program and communicate with this board. The CH340 USB drivers are not installed by default on most computers. Please rather buy the more expensive "non CH340" version of this board if this is going to be a problem! Connectivity Connectivity to the computer is provided through the common USB Type A connector. Power characteristics The board can be powered by the micro USB port or a DC Barrel jack connector. An on board low voltage regulator (LDO) can reliably regulate input voltages of 6V to 12V. Recommend 7V-9V. The output current for 5V is approximately 800mA and 180mA for 3.3V. Do note the higher the input voltage the lower the output current. Please note these are VERY LOW cost boards from China. If you expect a premium product, this is NOT for you. These boards might have scratches on them, might not be the cleanest, and the packaging might have scratches or small tears. For example, if the board has pin headers, they are often ship to us from China all together in a bag, and the pins might be slightly bent or protrude through the bag. If this is not acceptable, please look for a more premium product.
