I am one of those always hot people so I don’t like wearing gloves unless I really need them. I’ve been using these for a few weeks now and they’re really good. I like the fact that they’re thin so I can still feel my handlebars and the silicone is really good for grip. I use my bike to commute to work about 10 miles each way. I have a very heavy ladies Dutch style step through vintage bike and I load it up with heavy pannier bags etc so it ends up weighing well over 20kgs most days which means I get hot easily as lugging my bike up hill to my place of work is hard work. I can see that I wear less clothes than most other cyclists do in Nov’ and Dec’ in the UK as I’m a hot person even though I’m a petite, slim female. I am mentioning this so if you’re also a hot person, you’ll understand my review. I have cycled to work on 2-3 degree mornings and by the time I get 4 miles away from work I am usually down to a thin t-shirt and a very loosely knitted cotton jumper! When it’s 6 degrees I am usually down to just a t-shirt. I wore these gloves yesterday, it was 0 degrees, foggy and very damp on my way home from work and this is the first time my hands have felt cold whilst wearing these gloves.. I work at Muswell Hill in North London, it’s a very elevated point in London so cycling home is down hill for the first 3-4 miles so my hands were cold going down the hill against the cold wind last night but by the time I got to flatter and more uphill parts of the ride I did start to warm up. My fingers hurt and were smarting and tingling due to cold for the beginning of the ride but soon warmed up when I started peddling rather than just rolling down a steep hill! I don’t think I’ll bother to upgrade to warmer gloves as I personally find these very good, even down to zero degrees but I think a lot of other less hot people will need to invest in something warmer.
